AAAN and BJAN Forge Strategic Partnership to Elevate Nigeria’s Advertising Industry

The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Brand Journalists of Nigeria (BJAN) to drive growth and enhance collaboration within the country’s advertising sector. The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by BJAN to the AAAN Secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Lanre Adisa, Managing Director of Noah’s Ark and President of AAAN, the partnership is focused on a new initiative called REV, which stands for Relevance, Expansion, and Value. Adisa explained that this agenda is designed to ensure that AAAN’s member agencies stay relevant, expand their reach, and deliver greater value in an ever-changing advertising environment. He emphasized that partnering with BJAN would provide the necessary media coverage to promote the association’s initiatives and ensure their success.

The partnership comes at a critical time for Nigeria’s advertising industry, which is undergoing major shifts due to the rise of digital media and evolving consumer behavior. By working with BJAN, AAAN hopes to effectively communicate these changes to the public and key industry stakeholders.

BJAN’s Chairman, Clara Chinwe Okoro, who led the delegation, noted that the visit was part of BJAN’s ongoing efforts to renew and strengthen ties with key players in the industry. She explained that the partnership would benefit both organizations and highlighted that BJAN had worked closely with previous AAAN administrations. This year, BJAN presented new areas for collaboration, particularly around their upcoming marketing conference.

During the visit, BJAN also requested support from AAAN’s member agencies, specifically in terms of advertising in BJAN’s event brochure. BJAN further encouraged greater participation from AAAN members at their events, which they believe would help elevate the visibility and impact of their initiatives.

AAAN’s Vice President, Koyejo Abiola, highlighted the importance of the REV agenda, stating that it has the potential to reshape the advertising industry in Nigeria by helping agencies remain competitive and deliver more value to their clients. Abiola stressed that the partnership with BJAN would play a key role in amplifying these efforts.

AAAN’s Executive Director, Jonathan Oyovwevotu, also expressed the association’s commitment to supporting the partnership, assuring BJAN that AAAN would provide the necessary backing to ensure that both parties achieve their objectives. He reiterated that AAAN is fully invested in the success of the collaboration.

As the two associations move forward, the partnership is expected to foster significant growth and innovation in Nigeria’s advertising industry, with the REV initiative set to play a central role in driving these changes.
