Nutri-Yo, the consumers’ choice yoghurt drink in Nigeria, celebrated its fifth anniversary in grand style with the Nutri-Yo Children’s Day Carnival, held on May 27, 2023. This special event also commemorated World Children’s Day and took place at the Ndubuisi Kanu Park, Mobolaji Johnson Avenue, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. The carnival was filled with fun, adventure, and amazing prizes for the children who attended.
Children at the Nutri-Yo Children’s Day Carnival had a day full of excitement as they participated in various games and had the opportunity to win incredible prizes. Among the prizes were bicycles, bags, tablets, shopping vouchers, and many others. The event was a resounding success, leaving the children and their families with lasting memories.
In her welcome address, Brand Manager for Nutri-Yo, Jennifer Egbuonu, expressed her gratitude to all the parents for bringing their children to celebrate the milestone anniversary. She highlighted the body nourishment benefits of the Nutri-Yo brand, which contributed to the impressive turnout of children at the carnival.
“Nutri-Yo is a consumer friendly brand and that is why we are able to gather this impressive number of children. That is also the reason why we felt that Children’s Day is a very important day and we took it upon ourselves to host children to a large party to celebrate with us,” she said.
Egbuonu also acknowledged the schools that participated in the event through the school activation program, despite the early drizzling.
In her keynote address, Proprietress of Binta International Schools, Pastor (Mrs) Ehimwenma Enoma Adenuga, extended her appreciation to Nutri-Yo for organizing such a remarkable event. She emphasized the significance of Children’s Day in promoting the rights and welfare of children. Adenuga discussed the importance of education and urged parents to instil moral values in their children while encouraging the children to honour their parents.
Taking a holistic view of the day in focus, she revealed that Children’s Day was first celebrated on the 20th September, 1956; it was to promote the right of Children by the United Nations. “In Nigeria, we celebrate it on May 27. What is the importance? We pay special attention to children and focus on their lives, rights, to mention but few. The theme for this year’s children’s day is “Generating more money for primary and secondary education in Nigeria.”
Vishal Patil, Nutri-Yo Business Unit General Manager, thanked the attendees for their presence despite the rain. He took the audience through the journey of the Nutri-Yo brand, starting from its inception in 2018 to its growth and resilience during the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Patil expressed his gratitude to the consumers for their support, which has been instrumental to the brand’s success.
“Nutri-Yo has had an incredible journey over the past five years, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with the Nutri-Yo Children’s Day Carnival. We remain dedicated to providing Nigerian consumers with a yoghurt drink that not only satisfies their taste buds but also nourishes their bodies. We look forward to many more years of delivering excellence and delight to our esteemed customers,” he said.

He urged consumers to continue to make Nutri-Yo their preferred yoghurt drink while onboarding those that are yet to have a taste of it.
