Yinka Adebayo’s Marketing Insight

  1. Many of our buying decisions are informed more by emotional considerations rather than rational. When people like you, they like you.
  2. Until a brand gets to a position where people ask “why do you buy this brand?” and they say “i don’t know, I just love it,” you have note started.
  3. Music is key to Nigerians. Nigerians are crazy about music.
  4. If you don’t have my share of mind, you are most unlikely to have my share of pocket.
  5. It is not a one-man affair anymore. The language of business globally now is collaboration
  6. Every information is relevant to a marketer
  7. As a marketer, the best ideas often come from the foot soldiers, not the generals. So be close to your sales people on the field because they have information that can either change the fortune of the brand, or take it down.
  8. Have fun and make sure you get paid for it.
  9. Creativity does not thrive on an empty stomach
  10. It’s all about value. Because the only thing that is on the table that most people don’t run way from is value. Once value is on the table, the blind will see and the deaf will hear.
  11. You cannot win your opponent by running away from them. Stay close to them.
  12. What you don’t taste, you don’t miss.
  13. Marketing is not about how hard you work but how smart.
  14. The happiness index in Nigeria is very low. Any brand that can make them happy, they will grab it.
  15. We need data to keep a close tab on the Gen Z, cause even the Gen Z don’t know what they want.
